DWC x Timegrapher - Tithi

To begin with, we’re introducing Tithi in Malayalam and Tamil, made in collaboration with our friends over at Timegraphers, who’ve helped us think through the cultural and design nuances of working with these scripts in a watch format.

In both Malayali and Tamil cultures, the lunar cycle has long shaped everyday life influencing beliefs, festivals, agriculture, rituals, and the way time itself is understood.
This collaboration seeks to bring that influence into a contemporary expression of horology.

By uniting a moon-phase complication with the nuance and beauty of regional numerals, the design embraces a clean, restrained aesthetic, evoking the quiet glow of moonlight against the depth of the night.

The colours are drawn from the sky and landscape that shape these cultures.
The Malayalam edition, in salmon and sky blue, reflects the coastal horizon of Kerala, the soft blush of dawn and dusk over the sea, followed by moments of calm and stillness.
The Tamil edition, rendered in yellow and green, draws from sun-lit land and fertile earth  colours shaped by seasons, cultivation, and cycles of renewal.
